Development Fund

Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. Evidence of this can be seen from the huge numbers attending the club field every weekend.

We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.

Every person who supports this fundraiser will receive an annual complimentary Deise Draw Ticket and Membership for that year.

Development Fund - Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support for our Club and we look forward to working together to develop and improve our Club facilities for both present and future generations.

As is well known our Club purchased and developed its first grounds at Cliffe’s in the Burgery back in 1961. Then due to growing membership those grounds were sold in 1979 and we moved to our current grounds which were officially opened in 1985.

The first phase of development has seen a state of the art flood lighting system installed. Synthetic goalmouths, new goalposts, field lengthening and sanding have also been completed. Proposed future improvements include the construction of a hurling alley and clubhouse / changing room extension. These will provide our playing personnel at all levels within the Club with the very best facilities.

Up to the end of 2011 our Club has won a total of 66 County Championship Titles and 141 Western Championship Titles. The past decade has seen unprecedented success and many titles have been gained as a whole new generation of players have brought our united Parish Club forward.

Our very active Juvenile Section has been totally re-energized due to the influx of so many new families.

Our Club is happy to help Abbeyside Ladies Footballers and Camogie Committee and co-operate in providing them with the necessary facilities in order to progress the excellent work which they have undertaken.

Of course without the necessary Finance and Sub-Committees progressive plans cannot be brought to fruition and accordingly, I am appealing to all our Players, Members, Friends and Supporter to support this very worthwhile and much needed project by subscribing to our Special Fundraising Initiative.

Yours sincerely,

Tony Mansfield
Club Chairman
